therapy outdoors
Why outdoors?
I have worked for many years as a traditional therapist, working face to face in a therapy room. It is an excellent, tried and tested method. I still offer indoor sessions, as well as working online.
Outdoor work is different and brilliant. It enables movement, engaging our bodies as we explore feelings, emotions, memories and thoughts. It deepens our relationship to the outdoor world which in turn helps us to develop our relationship to ourselves and others. Being able to move during a session can model how we can move through or with feelings such as fear and pain, or confront and carry parts of ourselves. Trauma is held in our bodies and so it can be good to involve them in our healing.
We are nature. Exploring this changes our relationship to ourselves and others.
Introduction
Hello and welcome. I am an outdoor therapist who works with clients facing a wide range of difficulties: whether feeling overwhelmed, distressed or stuck; struggling with past and present relationships or traumatic events; in emotional pain or feeling numb; hating their situation or themselves; or not being able to trust what they will do next.
The work we do together helps find understanding, relief and change.
